Their Stories, Their Voices - World Language Workshop in Auburn Hills
Description
Description
An In-Person Workshop for Michigan World Language Teachers
Two of the most interesting and fruitful kinds of World Language content are students and stories. Students themselves—their experiences, interests, and opinions—are a rich source of target-language interaction that teachers can channel for both proficiency and community. Stories are powerful teachers of language, culture, and knowledge about the world.
This unique in-person workshop shows practical ways of using students and stories to capture attention, sustain communication, build proficiency in all modes, and grow intercultural competence. Teachers of all experience levels and teaching philosophies will discover new perspectives on using students and stories as core elements of a World Language program, as well as concrete techniques that teachers can implement in their classes right away.
Join us to finish 2026 strong and enter 2027 re-energized to teach!
