About the Authors

Melissa Creamer and Elaine Swope have been teaching in Northeast Ohio for more than 10 years. They have similar teaching philosophies and styles, and have been working together to incorporate Integrated Performance Assessments and activities in their classes for the past several years. Together, they have presented sessions at the OFLA Annual Conference, ACTFL and have been guest speakers in education methodology classes for their alma mater.

I just ordered this today, but since there weren't any reviews- I thought I should leave one. I have been debating if I should try one of these IPA packages, so I ordered this Gabriel Garcia Marquez one. I am impressed. There are only authentic resources included as input. (TV News clip and a clip from a magazine- including an infographic). These are authentic (produced for consumption by native speakers). The video is a 'normal' pace with some distracting music (which is GREAT because it prepares students for 'real-world' Spanish, and 'testing-situation Spanish'). There are enough visual supports to be interesting, but students must comprehend spoken Spanish. Yay! The handouts are in English (which makes me sad)...but this would be a great resource to leave a sub if I would be out for a day or two. I could easily link this to GoogleClassroom and turn kids loose on it. I will probably purchase another one or two more of these to keep (just in case). I like these that have actual tv footage rather than the interviews, but I haven't actually ordered any of those. So in short: Good video and reading material, and meaningful output opportunities and English comprehension materials that flow well with resources.
