About the Author

Gerry DeStefano teaches Spanish at West Forsyth High School in Cumming, Georgia, north of Atlanta. Over the last 15 years, he has taught all levels of Spanish (Level 1 through AP® Spanish Language), with emphasis on building students' competence in the four skills of language acquisition: speaking, listening,reading, and writing. In addition, he has been an AP Spanish Language exam reader since 2009. Gerry promotes the use of the target language in the classroom through innovative projects, highly engaging vocabulary activities, debates, and other performance-based assessments that focus on practical vocabulary acquisition. His teaching philosophy centers on enabling the language learner to engage in proficiency tasks that are both relevant and fun for the high school student.
