Marcus is excited when he finds out that his cousin LJ and family are moving to his hometown. LJ is 17 years old and Marcus, who is only 11 years old, really looks up to him. In addition, students are given a challenge at the end of each chapter. They are asked to go out and prove that they, too, have ein Herz aus Gold by completing simple acts of kindness for their family, friends, school, or community. The book is based on the lives and actions of real people.
